LilReefer_
I started my nano on Friday I have a 5 pound piece of live rock and 10 pounds of carib sea arag live Sand and I have a hydrometer I have a hydor koralia 550 powerhead and a tetra 20 gallon submersible heater ( upgrading soon I need suggestions) I am looking for a filter I was thinking a marineland 20 gallon but I need a little more money for that. I have a salinity of 1.021 I am thinking clown pair. Sand is still settling a little any tips on how to get it off the rock? Link to comment
HarryPotter
You can use your powerhead to get the sand off rock. Sounds like the salinity is low, try to get it up some with water changes and/or adding in some salt. Any pictures? Many reefers really like AquaClear fiters Link to comment

North Borders
Don't purchase any fish until your tank is cycled. There are some good posts in beginners forum about cycling your tank. There's some great posts in the New to the Hobby thread about quarantining and such over at Reef Central as well. From fresh start up to fish in under a week is too fast. Link to comment

North Borders
There's some great websites to check out fish and coral on to get ideas of what's available out there. Liveaquaria is a decent place to check out a lot of different cool fish. They have a 'nano' and 'beginner' category there too which have some nice entries. Pricing wise, in my area, I've seen most of my LFS guys selling their fish for about 10-30% above liveaquaria prices, so that would give you a ballpark on fish pricing. Outside of exotics and odd ball stuff like designer clowns, most of the nano appropriate fish are not crazy expensive. Link to comment
