pj86
In this build, I want to show how to modify a pico jar with various new ideas. I want to particularly address water movement control, filtration control and temperature control. It has been a while since I posted a new build on Nano-reef. My passion for miniature saltwater aquariums started here with a 3 gallon JBJ picotope. Since Kickstarter, PJ reef has been keeping me busy. I've learned that making a product is a humbling experience. It requires dedication and planning to make it a reality. I'm glad to be back building a new reef. HarryPotter
Hey I saw this on Kickstarter! Loved the idea but can't deal with no filteration (Time wise, the water changes would be sort of tough for me). I wonder if you could run a small canister filter in the same way you attached the CPU water pump/reservoir Link to comment
pj86
I wonder if you could run a small canister filter in the same way you attached the CPU water pump/reservoir The reservoir top can come off and receives flow from the CPU water pump. I'm planning on using that reservoir area as the filtration media zone. Link to comment
moshen
This has been a really cool project. I have the PJ Reefs light and jar but unfortunately couldn't make it work due to the temperature swings in my house. I live in San Francisco and with no air conditioning, we get some occasional very hot days in the house (90f+) and in the winter gets very cold at night that just kills my attempts. Looking forward to see how this modified PJ Reef does. If anyone wants to try their hand at it, I will sell my PJ Reefs jar/light setup for a reasonable price. It's very nice and sleek and the lights on it are great. Just email me at moshenext @ gmail.com. Link to comment
