J'canReefMan
Hi, Would you recommend a single lumina 5.2 mounted in the stock hood of a 8 gal BioCube? I plan on using the stock fan locations but upgrade the fans. Link to comment
jedimasterben
As long as it is well-cooled it would be ok. Then again, you won't need high-amperage drivers, so that will cut heat significantly. I'd use 350mA for each channel. Link to comment

J'canReefMan
Did some additional research on the LEDGroupBuy site and I'm now considering a 3up + OCW combination. Should I use 4:1 ratio of 3UP's to OCW or is a 6:1 ratio better for the 8 gal biocube bearing in mind that the light will be close to the water? Link to comment
jedimasterben
IMHO the OCW needs an overhaul. The reds aren't needed, warm white works better and looks better. I wouldn't use a red LED so close to the water's surface. Link to comment
J'canReefMan
Ok, so go with the xt-E 3UP's plus one each of warm white, blue and turquoise? What ratio do you recommend? (I really appreciate your input) Link to comment
