drgibby
I was looking at these lights and im trying to figure out what the moonlight channel is. I know its some sort of blue light but is it different then what the light already has? Could someone help clarify it for me? pictures are always welcome im more of a visual learner anyway. Boggers
without moonlight https://www.flickr.com/photos/nanoboxreef/15930207264/ with moonlight https://www.flickr.com/photos/nanoboxreef/12215699365/ Essentially it is an extra blue LED on top of the normal array next to it. This way you can control just that one as a moonlight and have all other LEDs off. People that do not have this can either turn lights all the way off or leave the blue "channel" on low at night. evilc66
It makes setting up a moonlight easier on smaller or shallower tanks. The blue channel can sometimes be too much even at low settings for some tanks. Some people also like the deeper blue look from the single royal blue versus the mixed royal blue, blue, and cyan. Thanks Derek Derek, It is a single channel and LED that is dedicated just for the moon phase option on the controller. Creates some gnarly night time viewing. -Dave Link to comment

Hig789
The difference in the channels on the bluefish is that the moonlight can be adjusted by .1% increments. The other channels can only be adjusted by 1% increments. The moonlight makes the corals glow like crazy when you turn it up a bit Link to comment
Gooburz
Might have to get one of these lights for my Deep Blue 7x5 gal cube. I don't think i've ever seen a light with so many positive reviews before. Link to comment
evilc66
That's probably true, and honestly well deserved. It's really the LED array that is key here. Dave really hit the nail on the head with his current v3 array. The customization and slick form factor are really just the icing on the cake. Dave's a pretty nice guy too, so that helps Link to comment

Very nice guy indeed. Link to comment
clownfitch
I am running a MiniTide over a 5 gallon SPS reef. I have just introduced the sps into the tank a couple of weeks ago and am ready to start ramping up the intensity. What setting has everyone found to best on these lights for acro and monti sps? I personally have a Fusion 10G with a minitide. I started at 25% and increased intensity about 1% every week until I reached 50%. I wouldn't go over 50% on such a small tank personally. Good luck.
