DustnF
I am in the process of collecting equipment for my new tank setup. It is a Deep Blue 30g shallow (24x24x12) rimless. The skimmer will be going in my sump and needs to have a small footprint. Right now I am leaning towards a Skimz sn123, but would like to know what others I should be considering. Link to comment
Waboss
I actually just picked up a Skimz sn123.....so far, love it. I was running a deepwater HOB skimmer but in the sump (the pump and everything is fully contained, so it works, just looks a bit silly) but it's a bit taller than the skimz and I needed the space. One thing I will tell you is that every time you clean the collection cup/neck, it'll go nuts and overflow like mad for a while unless you turn the pump down a bit (not the gate valve). How long have you been running it and what size tank? What is your available footprint? Checkout nanoreefsystems.com. I am having my sump custom built, so I could accommodate most options. Right now I have ~11"x8" to work with as it is currently drawn... Link to comment
Waboss
Nice. How long have you been running it and what size tank? A couple of weeks now, it's on a BC29 in a eshopps rs-75 sump. Link to comment

Mr. Clownfish
I am using sca301 skimmer on my 32 gallon tank and its pulling black stuff every week. +1 for this skimmer. And for $89 with free shipping it cant be beat. This skimmer is simple to use, Don't have to adjust it often unless you tare everything apart to clean it and its rated for 65 gallon so it will be more then enough for your 30 gallon.
