Spiderguardnano
So it's been about 3 days and. The vertex is still overflowing it's in about 6-6.5 inches of water I was reading that pudy will make skimmers go nuts and I did use pudy for my rock work So should I throw in some chemipure? My cycle is about 2 weeks in What should I do? Link to comment
kalireefer
I would try running some carbon. Also it may take a little while for the skimmer to break in and calm down. Link to comment
buckeyereefer
you could try adjusting the air intake on front of pump. if you already haven't. but yes they say epoxy will make them go crazy. mine I just opened the standpipe for few days. Link to comment
lilmatty5dimes
Has it had time to break in yet? Link to comment
Steensj2004
Did you try lifting it up by hand with the drain 100% open until it stopped overflowing? that will tell you where to raise it for now. Thats what I did with mine. As I said, I ended up needing a 90 degree elbow for the outlet as it was raised so high. Link to comment
Spiderguardnano
So it's still overflowing and it's been in the sump for about a week now it looks like it's sitting in 6.5 inch of water Sometimes the foam head will die why is that? Should I be messing with the volute or the red pipe more to get it from overflowing? So frustrating Sometimes I'm like yeah it's finally working then it will overflow 5 mins later or the skimmer head will die Link to comment
Steensj2004
Hmmmmmmm, try a vinegar bath? Link to comment
Steensj2004
Any luck? Mine is killing, not sure why you are having such a hard time. I do know my adjustment is BARELY closed....wish I could get better details for you. Stick with it! Also, my skimmer foam head dies when I stick my hand in the tank or add anything( food etc). That's pretty normal I believe. Link to comment
