Cruzersoul
I know its been discussed, but I would like to know how everyone goes about removing frags from plugs. I probably shouldn't really care, but I hate how unsightly the plugs look in my tank. That said, lets hear how you do it. Thanks, Drew Link to comment
GokesReef
Depends on the frag - normally they are just super glued to the plug. Snap it off. Link to comment
Cruzersoul
Is it that easy with sps? Link to comment
GokesReef
Yep, just be careful not to cause any collateral damage to the frag then glue/putty it on the LR where you'd like. Link to comment
Seth fhy
It's really easy, I just get a knife and it pops right off with little pressure. Unless the frag has grown onto the plug Link to comment
Pinner Reef
And don't worry I hate frag plugs with a vengeance as well. Nothing says "This is not nature" than the smooth clean line of a frag plug Link to comment
ndrobey
If the coral is grown into the plug, you may need to take bone cutters and trim off the excess plug until you get to where just the coral is showing. Link to comment
Arce
If its a ceramic plug you can just use bone cutters and trim the plug down to make it look more natural when placing it on your rock. If you get the plastic plugs like the ORA ones you really cant cut them but most of the time if you carefully play with it you can dislodge sps including some of the encrusted growth. I've done that once or twice. Link to comment
