This sounds like a job for someone with a 3D printer!

I actually just stumbled onto this website:

http://www.shapeways.com/

Which is kinda like a CafePress for 3D printing. I lost several hours browsing through what has been uploaded...

For people who know more about doing CAD drawing and stuff, I wonder if this would be a viable option for making cases for the Mini.

Any possibility to get temperature sensor or two integrated to mini/app(then it can replace my diy controller)? Looks really nice product!

The Mini does not have the extra pins for that. Two for power, and six PWM (each with a ground).

Thanks for the information. I think I will include it in next led-fixture if I go diy route again.

The more I look at it, technically the Electric Imp (which is the heart of the Bluefish) can use those six pins for GPIO and could possibly have one be a temperature probe, but it would probably be quite a bit of programming to do so.

The api says it pins can be configured seperately: https://electricimp.com/docs/api/hardware/pin/configure/

And here is the code for the onewire temperature sensor: http://electricimp.com/docs/resources/onewire/

But there is one catch.. It seems to need two pin for reading temperature (as shown in onewire example). So only 4 channels for PWM without external I2C pwm controller chip (but then you need to build whole code and mobile apps for yourself:)).

The imp dev board (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1129) looks like mini but of course without actual Bluefish software and mobile app which are the key part for everything.

I can't say I have any plans to add temperature sensing or other functionality beyond lighting control to the Mini. We may do some sort of upgrade program to make it easy and to save some money if you choose to upgrade to the full Bluefish unit later on.

Ben,

Is it as simple as just plugging this into a coralux-type board and wiring it to the mini? At work but taking a quick look, it seems thats all there is to it.

Kinda sorta. The pinouts are different than an LDD-H, but beyond that, the SCWxxC-xx series can take 36-72v input and even the 5w models give way more than enough power. Just gotta make the connections.

We will have these shipped to retailers on or before April 2nd. :)

If I didn't preorder one of these, can I still buy one April 2nd?

Possibly. Best to pre-order though if you need one. We have pre-sold about 70% of our first shipment.

So I just ordered my minitide two days ago, so if I get the mini wifi with it, would I still need the storm controller or it is not needed? Thanks!

EDIT : I just read that the mini wifi would just replace the storm controller and I would be set! I'm sending Dave an email to do just that!

I am planning on using this on a nuvo fusion 10 at work, which means it may be very difficult to get my light on the work network. we do have a guest network, but they change the password about once a week. If I setup a normal time and max intensity setting, will I only need to reconnect it to the network to make changes, or will it lose settings when they change the password and it can't connect?

Complete long-term lack of a wifi connection should only be a problem after a power failure. You'd be missing out on a lot of cool features though.

Thanks for the quick reply. Im ok with missing some features, they will be available if I ever bring the tank home. Plus i can login to the guest network when I need to access it, i just only want to have to login to make a change while it is at work. Ill have a mini in my ATI sunpower/nanobox hybrid as soon as they become available....i can play with the fun stuff with that light :)

Here's to hopimg for a quicker release since I have everything I need now but the bluefish!

My new driver boards should be arriving today and, Spencer willing, I'll be able to show off the Mini in the next couple of days :)
