Welcome Barry. Once you come to terms with the limitations of these small tanks, I think you'll find them to be MUCH easier than more traditional systems in terms of time consumption and maintenance. Looking forward to learning from your experiences as well. :)

The best way to get started is to come up with a plan first. Base it off of ideas that you see other people doing with their tanks. Decide on the size, lighting, filtration, and what fish/corals you hope to keep. Then tell us and we'll help you out with changes if needed :)

 

One concideration for work is vacations and weekends...you have to make sure that the tank isn't left alone for more than 2 days or so, or atleast have someone else that can add top off water for you.
