Dave ESPI
I have some hair algae.. (its like velvet, short thick and clumpy algae.. I put some in a buckett of Fresh water, and it seems to NOT deteriorate like what Bryopsiss does) SO is there any possibility that I can have the Plecostomus in my FW eat it and be ok? Just want ing opinions and if any oe has tried it... (I know its out there..LOL) Link to comment
gobies
We tried it. The mollies in one tank tasted it and spit it out. In another tank, the stuff grew in the water outflow and was 3" long when I pulled it out. YMMV, though, as there are at least two species currently being sold as the "generic" fw plecostomus, and we might have different species. Link to comment

gobies
: If you must try it, do NOT put it in a tank with live plants. Link to comment
