Crabs that burrow in sand Found on Beach!

Hey I was @ the Beach (again) and found some small Crabs in the water. They sorta burrow if they get scared. They have a Sandy looking back and yellow Flippers with A White Bottom. My mother wanted to Pick some up and bring um home for the Extra 2.5g i have now (just transfered to 10g) Anyone kNow what they are? Would they live in A Home aquarium? THANKS! Im going to the Beach again on Friday to Post some pics if they are still there. BTW thats Whats been Biting all out toes latly not Mantis Shrimp :P

hhmm you know i saw one of those once at soulth caralina. Some how the little guy got to or rented house and fryed in the sun:*(

flippers is an indicator that the crab is a swimming type.

 

If the crab burrows in sand on land, this is a sign that this type of crab will need to be on land and back in the water to live healthy.

 

Try doing a search on crabs on google.

what you are seeing is is ghost crabs i see them all the time at panama city beach fl they have yellow legs there sandy or white and they make little holes in the sand when they burrow in . or they could be sand fleas they will live in an aquarium but there not reef safe. here is a couple of web sites
