Chris333
I'm sure you have all seen these before, but here are some pics of a media rack I built for a Fluval spec V. The sides are acrylic and the shelves are egg crate. Used superglue to hold it all together and at the top I added 2 small plastic nubs to pull it out. I sanded the spots I was gluing to help it hold. Link to comment
jtwisconsin
Nice job. I built something similar for my Spec V, but I put the first shelf up higher to hold filter floss. What are your plans for media? Link to comment
Chris333
I was going to do floss up top with chemipure elite and pureigen below. Most racks I saw left big areas for the little baggies to sit in. I tried to make them smaller which pushed down the top rack. Do you think the floss needs to be higher? Link to comment
jtwisconsin
My filter floss was up fairly high, but the problem with that was evaporation. I think you would be fine with that design - I notice that the InTank media basket for the Spec V has the first shelf fairly low as well. Link to comment
jestep
If the superglue joints don' t hold you will probably want to get some weldon. But looks really good. I think the floss shelf should be fine. Might be noisier though. Link to comment
