BiGGj711
i'm about to buy a 56w pc for my 5.5gal from hamiltontechnology.com and they give you the option for what white bulb you want - 6700k or 10000k. what's the difference? is one prefered over the other for reef tanks? will it give the tank color a different look? mjschomer
Usually, the higher the kelvin rating, the bluer the light looks. 6700k will probably look a bit yellow, while 10000k should be pretty white. The 10000k would be preferable for a reef tank. Link to comment
MidiMouse
IMO, 10K is more visually appealing than the 6700K. I'd accent with actinics also. -Lam Link to comment
Spineless
6700K can promote more plant growth than most people want as well. Link to comment
