Starting my JBJ picotope - cycling question

So I almost have everything I ordered for my JBJ 3 gallon pico including an ac70. I was thinking I would just use what came with the ac70 as far as the carbon and floss for cycling the tank, then once it has cycled id throw in the intank basket I got and make a fuge.

 

Any ideas on this? Should I just go ahead and setup the fuge right away with rubble and maybe some carbon?

You don't need the carbon while cycling - only the sponge. If you want rubble, you may as well put that in, too. But no chemical media needed until after the cycle.
