jstagner
I have the new Red Sea Max C-250 and was considering making the switch to LED. I really want a setup that will fit in the existing hood. There is a lot of information about LEDs - it can be overwhelming. In any case, I'm thinking that 2x Lumia 5.2 would be a good fit. I have this in my cart but I'm not sure if this is everything I need or not. I also don't know if I can control these. I am most interested in a simple Sunrise/Sunset. 2x Lumia 5.2 2x Coralux 5UP LDD driver board 10x Meanwell LDD-1000H LED Driver 1x 180w 48v 3.75A DC Power Supply 1x 36x5.886 inch Heatsink 1x Arctic Silver Céramique 2 - 25g Does anyone have any experience with mounting Lumias in a RSM 250 hood? Can the existing moonlights be kept? Can I use the existing canopy fans to cool the heatsink? Thanks very much for any assistance or wisdom! Link to comment
andru1313
Congrats on your new RSM.... I just did this on my RSM 250 its not a C. You need 3 700 and 2 1000 ldd drivers. not 10x. For a controller get the Storm controller you can control sunrise and sunset and yes you can use your stock moonlights but the controller also has a moonlite phase so you can use your LEDs as well. Here is my build thread. I can help you out a lot if you want. Just lived this big time. Not sure how comfortable you are with DIY but I thought I was pretty comfortable this was a bigger effort than I had anticipated so planning is key.. Lots of good help on this forum as well. I love my new LEDs btw... My tank has exploded with new life... http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/342545-help-with-my-build-before-i-blow-something-up/ Link to comment
jstagner
Thanks! I have in my cart: 2x Lumia 5.2 (one with dual molex and one with interconnect) heatsink Makersdriver 5up pro Storm LED controller Thermal adhesive I am still debating on power supplies. I don't like the idea of open terminals. Will Meanwell HLG-185H-48A or HLG-185H-48B work? Link to comment
Horerczy
A meanwell HLG-185H-48A (A 42A or 54A type would work as well) would be perfect for this application. Link to comment
