blacksand_reefer Posted February 7, 2014 Share Posted February 7, 2014 I grabbed this tank on an impulse buy but have been extremely happy with its performance thus far. For the past four months the tank has grown and stabilized after cycling. I have been slowly adding pieces to the tank and learning tons about the hobby. So far this is what i got. JBJ 30 gallon rimless tank, JBJ unibody 108w led light, remove the stock filter baskets and replaced with large sponges, built a diy holder/support for a bag of chemipure elite on both sides of tank, and added a koralia 425. Im new to the hobby but am really excited. Looking foward to keeping this updated with all the new toys and living things!!! (reefkeeper elite, ato, eheim heater, another k-425). Just curious what everyone thinks about the wavemaker capabilities of the reefkeeper are? Link to comment
blacksand_reefer Posted March 22, 2014 Author Share Posted March 22, 2014 going a new direction. mixed reef with a skimmer. just purchased a new skimmer and it fits perfect in the jbj 30g rimless. pump in center chambers and return in overflow on right hand side, not the prettiest thing in the world nor the quietest but skims the hell out of the tank none the less. Aquac remora all the way. Wish i could've fed this much and not had the skimmer but my corals were hungry!!!! My growth rates have almost doubled and i the water params have never been this good.
