rocketpop
I know this forum is for reef tanks but I have post on other boards with out much response. What would be a good replacement for the stock lighting in an Eclipse 3 for a SW FISH ONLY tank. It currently has 2 18 watts 24 inch fluorescent tubes. BTW: I do not wish to do a DIY. I would like to use the stock setup with better lights. I was thinking about these lights or should I just get 2 Daylights instead of the 50/50? 24" (NO, T8 50/50 Fluorescent, 18W -Coralife 24" (NO, T8 10,000K Daylight, 18W -Coralife Link to comment
Rikko
FO or FOWLR? Either way, the light matters next to not at all. Want it bright? A pretty colour? It's entirely up to you if you aren't growing any algaes (intentionally) or corals. We have a display System3 in our store running a Hagen Marine Glo at the "back" and a Hagen Life Glo at the "front". I have to say I really like the appearance in the tank. I would probably go with what you suggested rather than two daylights. The influence of the blue makes the tank seem a lot nicer. Link to comment
