ipodnano
I bought a few frags from a local frag swap about three weeks ago and noticed some Monti Eating Nudibranchs about a week later on a Superman Monti and a Rainbow Monti. I had dipped in Revive prior to putting in the tank and then dipped after i saw them. Things seemed good, but yesterday I noticed a ton of them on the Rainbow again. I dipped again and they seem to be gone, along with a little of the coral tissue. Here are my questions: I only have these two encrusting Montis as well as a Montipora Digitata. Will these nudis go after the Digitata or any other Acros in my system? So far I don't see anything on anything else including the Digitata. Has anyone had good results with Revive on Monti Eating Nudis or is there something else I should be trying? Thanks! Link to comment
Arce
Check for eggs. Sometimes dips don't pull them off. Link to comment
ipodnano
I tried to gently brush eggs off with a toothbrush and thought I got it all, but now about three hours after the last dip, I am seeing more. Should I dip again now, or wait 24 hours? Link to comment
Arce
Id take them out of the DT and put them in a bucket w/ tank water to get as many eggs off as possible and then try to QT them. No point dipping again because most dips will not kill or remove eggs. Link to comment
littlebigveteran
Im having the same problem at the moment om my monster monti cap. I coral rx every coral that i get but i must have missed some eggs at some point. Reading up on montipora eating nudi's thier lifecycle is reliatively quick ( 5 day hatching time ) so i am dipping the coral every two days and brushing off any visible eggs. Hoping that by dipping every couple of days that i will kill any newly hatched and i will probably do this for a week or so. Today being the next i can let you know how i get on with this if you would like? Link to comment
Grumblecakes
I dealt with monti nudies once. I screwed around with iodine and other 'cures'. only thing that worked was dipping in potassium permanganate. Anything else is just a waste of money. Link to comment
ipodnano
I lost the battle with the Monti Eating Nudi's or whatever it was killing my rainbow and superman monti frags. Thankfully, my Monti Digitata is unharmed and growing like a weed. I removed the ones being killed and am going to wait a few months before trying another encrusting monti frag. Link to comment
