laguna-madre
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has compiled a list of fish that are specifically suited for macro algae tanks? I'm looking for fish (and invertz) that would feel most at home in macros, because I'd like to recreate that ecosystem/biotope in my own aquarium. I'd rather not buy a fish that primarily lives in the reef among corals and place it in a coral-less macro tank. Obviously, we have the seahorses and pipefish, but what else? Link to comment
GHill762
Maybe scorpions, frog fish, wasp fish, etc.. Just a guess based on how they look.. Also, I'd imagine dragonets come from high algae areas.. Link to comment
burnah
seagrass filefish, acreichtys tomentosus. one of my favourite fish, great personality. greetings martin Link to comment
VABumpkin
most predator fish are found amongst algae beds. Link to comment
Subsea
Consider some brackish water candidates. I especially like Mono Argentus and Ruby Scat. I also like to mix in different color mollies. While I do not care for large predators, consider a macro pod lagoon and enjoy watching your Mandaran feed. Link to comment
