Refugium lighting question

Should I turn on my fuge light at night time or daytime? why some people turn on at night time?

I run mine as soon as my tank light go out my fuge lights come on. Helps my ph from swinging wildly from day to night.

oh mine is a hang on fuge so i cant let the fuge light on at night becuase is gonna light up the display tank too lol. So can i just light up the fuge at daytime?

You can light it whenever you want. Some light at night to avoid PH swings and to avoid heat. Some leave it on 24/7. If it's a nuance at night have it on during the day.

I do 24/7. But in your situation I would run it along with your lights.

i only use a 3watt led light from ikea. at night is off.

OKOK, thanks for all info and advice. I think i just light it with the display tank light when is on. Do I need to add any supplement for the cheato or just leave it is ok?

^Just let it grow and do it's thing.

 

FWIW I have my light on probably 20 hours a day.
