igoRluse
Hey guys, I've got a 6g AGA nano-cube. I think it is called a via aqua 320 in the US. It's a nice box but came with only an 11w PC that I want to upgrade. I'm thinking of removing the top to replace with a halide fixture but the problem is I've only got 12" to work with. What's the smallest halide fixture out there? Preferably one that looks good. Price is not really an issue. Link to comment
Chyendra
The 70 watt MH is probably the smallest, though i don't know of any complete fixtures at this point. Most people retro'd their own, into a canopy. Link to comment
Jahkaya
They make Pendants that hold the 70 watters that can be directly plugged into a ballast. NO DIY necessary. Link to comment
Jahkaya
Course if you are just looking for a fix, then that may be a different story. Link to comment
Destro
At Home Depot they sell a outdoor halogen spot light that will fit a DE 70W metal halide but you still have to wire it to a ballast that will match the bulb. The brand is regent i think. I have seen people make canopies and take the socket out of the fixture and mount it in a hood with the glass. Link to comment
Rikko
The smallest MH bulbs and ballasts I've seen are 50W, though I've never seen a kit for aquarium use. Odds are you'd have to buy one DIY and build up a safe kit. Link to comment
Von digity
http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=33348 The fixture I'm currently working on will be perfect for small tanks. Link to comment
