jcf1
Yesterday I added some coral frags to my system. All seems well, but I'd just like to check a few things. Firstly, my banded coral shrimp snipped all the tentacles off one of the torch heads, see below. Do you think they'll grow back? Should I remove the head? And, yes the BCS was swiftly taken back to my LFS. Second, my finger leather seems happy 90% of the time, but every now and then gets all patchy, like its developed a skin complaint :x This happens fast, then it will go back to normal, over say 5 minutes. Is this a normal part of acclimitisation? It also rarely pokes its polyps out at the moment. I adjusted the powerhead so it has a medium flow around it. I used the flash in this photo, so the patchy effect is exaggerated. And here's my zooanthus seamat: My yellow polyps: Favia Brain (very weird!): Link to comment
jcf1
Right well, a water change was due so... I aimed the siphon at the damaged torch head and dragged out a load of stinky dead coral gunk. Now my question is, how deep does the body of the coral go? I can't see any more flesh in the 'socket' so I'm guessing I got it all? Should I still remove it? I'd rather not if possible. Any opinions please!!!! Link to comment
