Mantis737
I am moving into a new tank...29g with dimensions 30x12x18. Here is my question. Right now I have a 15g with 80w PC with Actinics being turned on and off for Daylight/dusk effect. I want to upgrade to MH I think, but I cant spend more than like 300 bucks on the whole lighting. I want to know if it would be better to go with a Aquamedic 150 MH setup and no dusk/dawn effect, or a 2x65 Orbit PC with dusk/dawn. Either way I will keep 2 moonlights. So lets get some opinions. 1 150w MH Aquamedic Pendant vs. 2x65w Orbit PC I need to get this stuff ordered, so help me out! Link to comment

GunMoto
Go metal halide (oh my, the shimmer...). I purchased a Hamilton Reef Star 250W MH pendant system w/14k bulb and mag ballast for under 300 bucks at CustomAquatics.com. Link to comment
ReeferMonkey
If you have a canopy (or can build one) 250w SE MH retros go for about $125 without bulb. www.diyreef.com Link to comment
mokick3
Hey GunMoto, Is your tank too blue? Ive been looking at that lamp (the 175w 14k reefstar). Do you have yours hanging from a pendant? and if so, how high? Link to comment
Vern_Smith
Maybe you could use your old pc fixture with the new MH, if you have enough room, and still have your actinic Link to comment
