There has to be something endemic to Hawaii that eats Aiptasia. I'd search them out and use a natural control method. You might be able to culture them and sell them here on the mainland.

There is plenty and I have even tried a few things (Aeolid nudibranchs, shrimp, anemone eating sea spiders). Unfortunately they are annoyingly hard to find by anything but luck and my maroon clowns pretty much eat/kill anything they don't want in their space. It is like a very private club where if you aren't on the list, you are dead!
