Sahin Posted August 31, 2002 Share Posted August 31, 2002 50cm is kind of deep even at 40cm with the sand bed (halimedia). At about 18inches, the clam on the sand might not get enough intensity. Perhaps try putting it directly under the center of the MH beam, it might be alright, if not you'de need to put it up higher. Link to comment
eduardo cavalcanti Posted September 1, 2002 Author Share Posted September 1, 2002 sahin i think the best place to put the clam would be in the top of the tank, about 15 cm far from the surfice. the problem is that i heard derasas don´t like to stay on rocks. do you think a crocea would be an option with this lightning? Sahin Posted September 3, 2002 Share Posted September 3, 2002 A crocea placed right beneath the MH will do alright IMO. You must first get the Crocea attached to a smaller rock and then put the rock high up in the tank under the halides. My crocea attached right away and I slowly moved him higher up the tank. eduardo cavalcanti Posted September 3, 2002 Author Share Posted September 3, 2002 sahin, your clams are awesome. about the crocea. the problme is that in the top of the tank, the water flow its high because i have some sps corals. so, i think the clam wouldn´t like the circulation there. that´s why i wanted to pu a small derasa in the ground, you know? what would you suggest?
