szesteve
Hi everyone, I'm using the coralife 96W PC lights on my 10 gallons and it's been working pretty well. However, I REALLY WANT to switch to MH if possible. Does anyone know if I can modify the existing hood I have to fit a MH into it? Also, how many watts would I require? REALLY really appreciate any advice possible. Thank you! Link to comment
Jahkaya
can't be donw without major mods. best bet is to sell the quad for 70-80 bucks and spend another 70-80 to get a 175 halide. Link to comment
szesteve
I've been doing lotsa thinking and have been trying to think of ways to minimize cost and loss. I've more or less narrowed down to making my own hood out of wood...something like DSparks idea: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...hlight=DIY+hood However, I want to reuse the 96W PC bulb I have and so I've decided to go with 1 70W MH light and the 96W PC bulb... Is this crazy??? As for the issue of heat, my decision is to throw in 2 PC fans, 1 for intake and 1 for output... Link to comment
