Best fixture for immediate use, but later modifying?

Pretty new to saltwater, and looking for some advice...

 

I want a hood that I can use now with easier corals, but has enough space that I can modify it later (much later) on when I want to start keeping some of the more light intensive goodies.

 

I have a 10g and was thinking of the dual 40w by current as seen here:

anyone have any experience modifying that fixture to add a 70w MH setup similar to that offered by lampdr?

 

Thoughts on why that might work or not work?

unless it's a wood made hood, I believe the Custom SeaLife or the Current Orbitz model is the only option.
