lokipsl
I needed to buy new bulbs for my t5 fixture so that contributed to the fixture update. I have 2 tanks running 4 bulb fixtures and it sucks dropping $170 on bulb replacements every 7-8 months.. I'm hoping the LEDs help out a bit. Link to comment
tetraodon
im sure they will, should pay for itself with combo of saving some electricity and bulb replacment, i use an LED light on my nano, and its been great Link to comment

lokipsl
i looked up the light, and i have to say im impressed, for that money and all those features, im drooling I still am a little nervous about the switch to LEDs. I am hoping everything makes it through without being to stressed. I am taking the light acclimation very slow. When I first plugged in the unit I have to say it honestly didn't look that bright. Now that I have had it on all day with my other tank using the t5s in viewing distance, 15% power is blowing me away right now lolz. My other tank for reference. Awesome photo bomb! thank! It was long overdo Link to comment
tetraodon
well deffinetly keep us posted about the light, my LED cost 50 dollars and my coral love it, though i have a much smaller tank Link to comment
lokipsl
It's been about 4 weeks since the reef breeders photon 24 fixture started to shine down on the little 20 long. My max is 30% blue 25% full spectrum channel. I got par readings of 350 at surface and 150 at sandbed in the middle of tank. Lowest par reading was 100 taken at the sides of the tank I added this mini canister filter so I can run GFO and carbon Would like a id on this shroom please Some more quick photos Link to comment
lokipsl
The nem is still a little small. Finally getting adjusted to the new lights Clays' bam bams. The only frag that made it after my torch was knocked on top of my newly arrived frags......... The god of war looked amazing too Rainbow monti. Needs to color up... With a little tlc I am sure this will turn into a stunner my sunset monti. Brightest and smallest thing in the tank. The polyps are HuGE though!!! New Cali tort frag! Came with the rainbow monti and a frag of tubbs blues. Not bad for $20 Fragged this little people eater from my larger reef. Wanted to see if it would morph under the LEDs. Runaway xenias.... Holding these for a friend so I stuck them in the corner. The left the rock they were on and have set off a mission to conquer the new land The orange hammer is doing great still miss the color it had from the t5s though I have to start my 46 gallon thread soon Link to comment
doppelganger
speaking from someone who's had a 20L peninsula, you've done an awesome job on the scape. Tank looks amazing. I know how much a pita it is trying to get a scape that works from all sides. Great work! Link to comment

I have added some more sps to the mix and the LED fixture seems to be getting me some awesome colors. The growth has been pretty solid aswell. Once the lights come on tomorrow I will post the new additions.. Link to comment

lokipsl
What is your filtration? I added a toms mini canister filter. I only use it to hold a little bit of phosban. Besides that I just use good flow and I am very cautious about over feeding the system Link to comment
Melmac
Love the setup, still practicing taking pictures with canon t3i. Amazing!!! Link to comment
