lostfish Posted June 13, 2004 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Do you think this coralife will be decent lighting, or would you opt to save some money and build a custom setup? I was thinking of maybe building a custom hood and mounting some of those flourescent stip lights in the hood. I kinda figured though by the time I am done the price will not be that much different. Do you think this setup will work for me, to grow some corals or is this no good? Lighting Thanks everyone Link to comment

From what I have read, this fixture is junk and it would be better to get a new orbit 2x 40 watt pc's. Also, if you were to diy, go with a 70 watt de metal halide retrofit-search LampDr here-the kits are like $140 and nearly plug and play. Btw, what corals do you intend on keeping? You really need Metal Halide if you want more than shrooms and softies! Sam Link to comment
lilreefr Posted June 17, 2004 Share Posted June 17, 2004 I have an Orbit 80w with moon lights on my 10g. It seems to work great. It looks good and the softies and shrooms seem to be loving it. They are actually multiplying. Link to comment
