I added ~3 ilbs of live rock today and about 2.5 lbs live sand. When will i geyt a spike in nitrate ammonia and nitrite or will i not? should i just test every day? then whwen my readings get too high just change water? i think im gonna add a cleaning crew first then ill add my corals. any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW i post pics wed or thurs when the lights arrive thanx. Link to comment
tyoberg Posted August 19, 2002 Share Posted August 19, 2002 Your cycle is over when Nitrite and ammonia are zero. No timetable given as guessing what your bacteria concentration is isn't easy work. Test daily until ammonia is zero. Nitrites will take longer to go away. I wouldn't bother with waterchanges until the cycle is done. Ty Link to comment
anthony812 Posted August 19, 2002 Share Posted August 19, 2002 assume that your LR is fully cured, you will have a very short cycle, but i would still give it a week to make sure..once its over, then change your water..~20% and start slowly adding the corals or fish.. Link to comment
