sphearion
Hello everyone, I have a few lighting questions right now I have a 30gal (nano) anyway right now I don't have alot of light or a whole lot of money, I have seen halogen systems (flood lights) at HD for about 22.00 a lamp I was wondering if there was a way to wire that to Metal Halide or if Halogen would be ok for a FOWLR / Softcoral tank, right now the tank has been in operation for about 3 months, with 4 turbo snails and 2 hermit crabs I keep my water temp at about 81deg f same as my freshwater tropicals, I recently added 2 blue-green chromis ( buying things as I go) my next purchase will be about 15lbs of liverock, right now I have 10 lbs in the tank but I still need some more. that was just a little insight on what im working with here, I really hope that the halogens will work or can be modified in a way to make them work Thanks for the help, Sphearion Link to comment
evassj4
Unfortunitely halogen bulbs can't be used with corals. This thread will provide you with all you need to know about making the conversion from halogen to metal halide. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...ht=metal+halide Link to comment
