what bulb should I use??

I'm planning in the near future to start up a prop tank and try my hand at growing sps. I've purchased a 25G tank, and plan to purchase a MH/PC hood. I will use a 150 or 175 HQI bulb with two 55w act 03 pc bulb. It will be in my garage in my work area. Being that it's outside the living quarters, need I concern myself with type of ballast, mag v. elec. Also, what type of bulb should I get. Will the corals grow much faster with 5500K or will they do just as good with 10K. Look forward to hearing some veteran advice:P
