Whys Posted January 11, 2014 Author Share Posted January 11, 2014 Over time, my mixing barrel develops a hard white layer of bicarbonate residue on all the inside surfaces. Eventually, mildew finds its way in and appears to feed upon the bicarbonates, turning the white to brown. It requires a thorough scrubbing of the entire inside and a means to hose it down. Before, I would have taken it into the backyard and used the garden hose, but it's below freezing this time of year and the hose bibs are winterized. Thus normally, I would just stick it out until the weather warmed up and hope the mildew didn't get too bad.But now... Link to comment
