Hey guys I've been looking to buy a camera to take photos of my corals in my tank. I don't need crazy top of the line equipment but then again I don't want some pos. I'm a novice with cameras but I can and will take the time to learn so a camera with a learning curve is ok. I'm mainly looking for a decent camera and a decent macro lense that will be able to take nice photos.

I was wondering if any of you have any info or advice in a camera to look at? Again I have no clue what to get.

Photography is like Aquariums. It is a hobby with alternatives, if you go cheap you know the risks. But there is always a good possibility that what you did stay good for long.

35mm lens with a dioper.

or you can even revert the lens with a ring and buy extension tubes. With the lens and a good set of extension tubes I would say you will probably need like $330. (not including the camera)

A lot of his pictures are taken by a 55mm lens with a kenko extension tube set.

But if you have the money to buy a macro lens and a camera is better for you as a beginner in photography.

$330 for a lens and a set of extension tubes is close to the price of a used 100mm macro lens.

Show a link where to buy it, to see what kind of macro lens he can get for $330 dollars.

Used price of a canon 100mm is $350. New price of a 100mm macro is around $500-$550 depending if they are on sale or not.

Keep an eye on craigslist and you might run across one. Got mine for 350 and seen a few others sold for the same.
