I was interested in a pendant style. should I go with the HQI 250w? or could I get away with the 150w? anyone have experiences with this light, I like the sleek look: http://www.championlighting.com/e/env/0001...spm101250_75010 is the stock 10k bulb going to have any visible blue? Samc Posted June 1, 2004 Share Posted June 1, 2004 well, for the depth I would go with either a 250 se or de-It all depends on what you want to keep (sps and clams would thrive but it is a tad bit to much for most softies-btw, a 250 watt se is what I am going for on my 30 gal. sps and clam tank). Also, that seems to be a magnetic ballast-if you went with an electronic one, you could change between de and se without buying a new ballast-nice fixture though! The stock fixture has some blue but not much and unless you want to add some actinic, i reconmend going to a 20k bulb. Sam Link to comment
