Chaz181
Hi Victa, i also have a question about your magnetic cleaner how does it go because i remember when i bought one when the elcipse was running i found that i got scratches on the acrylic do you have this problem or have you got a cleaner that doesnt make any marks. Victa
i odnt get scratches from my magfloat, but its too weak so it doesnt really do much. when theres tough coraline algae growing on the front glass i use my kent scraper very nice and useful. my tank is all scratched up anyways tho because i used one of those "acrylic safe" sponge looking pads and over a while they got hard and acted like a brick and sandpapered parts of my tank really sucks... thats why im gonna start a viaaqua soon. if anyone has a viaaqua that they wanna sell please let me know Link to comment
Victa
got a new fish in a trade with jpizzle here on nr in my tank, and a purple encrusting montipora right after we made the swap! and another plus i got rid of that giamongous branching hammer of mine hope it has a good home with jpizzle now, great doing business man let me know when you want some of those zoos of mine. anyway here are some pictures of the new specimins. looks like cotton candy, yuummy! fun fish! loves to perch on the monti cap of mine. very happy with him because of his perfect size for my tank. next to the monti cap Link to comment
harbingerofthefish
so jealous of you CA reefers that can find zoos like that locally. the blastomussas...mmm.... you dosing anything or just WC's? Link to comment
Victa
coral are bankski here tho :/ win lose situation. the zoos are my fav too thanks for the compliments. as far as dosing i simply dose 1 drop of kent calcium every 2 days. i've never tested any of my water params in all these 7 months because i do a weekly 1.5 gal water change religiously. and everythings growing and im just fragging things left and right for trades. so i think im going to stick with my routine. Victa
oh yea and 1 drop of kent iodine along with the Ca additive. as for other dosing/feeding i use kent zooplex, DT, and for my fishies food im dipping frozen brine in 3 drops of kent zoe to keep him healthy, im not sure but i think my snails and hermits like it too cuz they go crazy when i put in the food. Victa
its almost getting to be summer in nor*cal, and i was noticing my water temps increasing. as a precaution i decided to wire up another fan. as i noticed in my first fan set up, the oil for the motor of the fan quickly dried up. i solved it by just adding a couple drops of triflow into the commutator. SO, this time wiring up my 2nd fan i decided to put on a "on off switch" along with it and also have the left fan blow in cold air from my open window and the right side fan to blow out the hot air into my face....the switch it just so i can turn off the fans when im studying. here are some pictures of the DIY process. the fans are now keeping my tank at a constant 78-79*F. total cost for the parts.. $12 Link to comment
