sandsrfr
I'm going to replace my ViaAqua hood (2x36 watt = 10k and A03 actinic) with a MH as soon as I can decide on a bulb. I want to do a pendant, and am hoping to get away with just the MH bulb and no actinic supplements. I like the current coloration of the 2x36watt pc's (but I could take a little bit more blue). I'm thinking a true 10k MH will be too much white for me. I found these 2 bulbs tho: 50k Iwasaki (that they say is actually closer to like 15k, not being as blue as the 20k radium or Ushio) http://www.reefgeek.com/products/categorie...ing/104284.html & 10k BLV (supposeably closer to 12k?) http://www.reefgeek.com/products/categorie...ing/104459.html Anyone got a suggestion on what might better suit me? Reference a fairly recent tank pic for the coloration of light I'm used to: http://members.cox.net/sandsrfr Sands Link to comment
Undertheradar
I would just go 20,000K FWIW...Aqualine is my favorite... Link to comment
greentreepython
14 k hamilton 15k coralvue Both bulbs have a noticeable amount of blue not to much, not too litttle, perfect. PAR and growth rates are highly decreased by a 20k bulb. Hamilton is a little more expensive, but appears to be better constructed. Both bulbs are great. Link to comment
