xeon
I made a 12" cube out of 1/4" cast acrylic. The rough hood estimates are 16 3/4 L x 12 1/4 W x 4 1/2 H. By rough I mean there might be an eighth of an inch difference or so. I only know of two things I can fit in there, MH or PC. I'm thinking I will go with PC's. I don't plan on any overtly light intensive corals or clams, may some softies or other low light corals. This is a gift for my six year olds upcoming birthday BTW. I actually decided to make a rear refuge/sump area to extend the hood in the very least, plus I'm not a fan of HOB's. At 12 x 12, I was limited to 13W PC's due to size. The extension gives me the option to at least use 28/32W PC's. I think I'm set on lighting, but amongst other things I'm trying to figure out where and how to mount my Fulham WH5 ballast. I'm thinking I should have it mounted with some spacing off of the hood due to heat. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that might help, I sure would appreciate it. Link to comment
just dave
You can also use the 18w 71k bulb as well as the 27w linear quad bulbs which come in 67k and actinic. Link to comment
