mushroom questions

Hi, can someone please tell me. When a mushroom is moving from one point to the next does it normally shrink down in the process?

 

If a mushroom was over fed (lots of brineshrimp) given to it, I read that they can have digestive problems and will shrink down, is this true?

mushrooms shrink for lots of reasons. mine will take on several shapes throughout the day. if mine get a hold of food that they want to keep, they will shrink down and enevelope the food so all you see is the underside. when mine detach, they tend to ruffle their base/foot, so it looks like it is starting to detach. it will also start to sway in the current. i've never had any just detach and float away.....maybe just move an inch or so.
