revance
I want to set up a 5g nano and have been reading up on various lighting ideas. I have found LOTS of different opinions on how much light is needed. First of all... this is supposed to be a fun project, not an expensive one. I am trying to keep costs low! I have heard of people using the coralife 20w mini PC (screw base) lamps and was wondering if people here think 3 of these would be sufficient for a 5g nano (or is it a bit overkill)? At $12 a piece this is definitely the cheapest way to get 60watts over this tank. I am using one of the 6700k bulbs for a 5g nano planted tank and it works great. Any advice is appreciated! Dolfan0925
Some people are hooked on light like crack. I'm not really one of them. I dun think 60w is overkill, but I don't think it's necessary either. I have 43w over my 10g, which would be a sin to some, and my corals are doin fine. In my opinion you could get away with 1 20w, 2 of them would be plenty. But that's just my opinion Link to comment
