250 DE Hqi over a 20H

I am getting ready to put in lighting now and i was wondering if a 250watt hqi de metal halide would be too much for a 20 H. I want to keep an RBTA, a clam, and maybe a few sps's. Also, is there anything wrong with having those three things in the same tank. I am planning on running a 20k XM or AB bulb. Is there any pendants that anyone would like to suggest.

 

If i go the DIY route, is it alright to have a fan in the hqi's hood. i heard somewhere that a fan blowing near a hqi bulb will make it pop. It sounds like a myth, but i would like to make sure.

That amount of wattage is fine, just pay closer to evaporation levels and salinity levels. Sunlight supply makes the best pendant in terms of light reflection its called the reefoptix 3.
