Update: ok so I've been dosing 1ml a day for 4 days the last 2 days I upped it to 1.5 ml a day. I also helped it out abit by taking out 2 dry rocks and scrubbing them. The H2O2 seems to be helping out a bit and keeping the growth on the sand bed at bay. Pics soon.

So I've been having some troubles with escaping snails. Nerites are climbing out and falling onto the floor. Every morning I through em back in and they're fine. This leads to my question to screen or not to screen? Thoughts? It would ruin the look of the rimless tank. Should I just take the nerites out?

Hair Algae Battle Continued: so I,m on the eighth day of treating with H2O2 and its going allright. I upped the dosage to 2 ml a day but its still growing on the back wall and on the sand bed. there is nothing on any of the rocks. Oh and i also added a cleaner shrimp for the heck of it.

I would add a screen, just leave it one when you are either asleep or gone. As for the gha have you tried squirting it directly on the algae?

I have been injecting the H2O2 directly into the sandbed where the patches are.

As for Builder Anthony um what???

Good News!! I've finally gotten my first coral! Its just a small Duncan but it is my first coral I have ever owned. I've been staring at for awhile and it already looks lonely in the tank. I can now see why this hobby is so addicting. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Spot treat the areas with h2o2 after you remove some water. You'll see it bubble up right away. Once it touches water it'll dissipate away.

Update 2/11/2013: This is quickly becoming my dads tank. The other day he brought home a fire shrimp and neon green/yellow short tentacle flowerpot. Today he brought home a bubble coral. Not that I'm complaining, It's great to have someone buy lots of frags for you! Anyway everything seems to be doing great and the clowns are eating newlife spectrum right out of my fingers.

How do you find the Red Cleaner? Is he always hiding?

He has only been in the tank for a few days and seems to move around more every day. Otherwise he is hiding in the cave.

Looking good!

Thanks! Today I went to my LFS and saw a green tip hammer with 7 heads and just had to have it. I got it for $60 which I think is a good deal. I'll post pics tomorrow when it's nice and comfortable in the tank.
