the dwarf lionfish would most likely grow bigger and end up eating both clowns. yes, their mouths may look small but can stretch nice and big. No, clownfish do not need an anemone host. If your looking for a host for them try a frogspawn or torch coral. Anemones arn't really hardy in the average aquarium except for a condy or sebae anemone IMO.

WELL SAID NANO..... ! I could only add that the Clowns will be agreeable to the lion IF the Clowns were huge.

Remember.. Lions are the T-Rex of the reef, and Clowns are tasty..,. anemone or not.
