realhiphop Posted August 11, 2002 Share Posted August 11, 2002 Well I added my 15 Lbs. of Cured Live Kaelini Rock 2 days ago. I just got a reading of around 1.0 for nitrite. How long does a tank usually take to cycle with cured live rock? Is there anything I should add to the tank to help the cycle? I'm not talking about adding any supplements. I want to start to see the life come out of the live rock. Should I add a raw shrimp or something like that? Link to comment
Sahin Posted August 11, 2002 Share Posted August 11, 2002 Dont add anything. The rocks should be fully cured in three weeks max from start to finish. Just keep a check on the water parameters and carry out a water change if any of the readings get too high. Else, providing the rocks were at the LFS in thier tanks for a few days at least, there wont be too much die off and the rocks will cure smoothly.
