puffin Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I bought a merulina coral a week ago thinking it was a favia or something, well it wasn't until I was looking around on liveaquaria that I saw what it really is. according to live aquaria it is also an sps coral, I have acropora growing well in my tank so I think my lighting is fine. but what are the other care requirements for this coral? right now it just looks like an encrusting coral, but I see it won't look like that forever. here is the link http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_di...&pcatid=471
wombat Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 They are pretty undemanding. Treat them like a Favia or the like--moderate to high light and flow. They will grow pretty quickly but not as fast as say a monti cap.
fretfreak13 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Pretty coral. had to comment though, you two have hilariously similar usernames and avatars. >.> lol
wombat Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 True, but a wombat would kick a puffin's ass in a cage match. Just sayin'.
puffin Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 lol only if the wombat could get to the puffin. anyways I like the shape the coral has in that pic, just kinda random. they very fast growers?
