Remove live rock from reef tank to cycle another

Hi,

 

I am setting up a nano reef and will start taking my 155 gallon reef tank apart.

 

I will get the new tank today and wanted to know if i can remove live rock from my existing tank and put into the new tank without crashing my reef tank.

 

I was thinking of putting 25-30lbs of rock from my old tank (it has over 150lbs of live rock) on the new tank and also scoop some live sand for the new tank to make it cycle faster.

 

Will i crash my existing reef by removing 30lbs of it's live rock?

i am a newbie but i am pretty sure you will be ok with removing some of your rock.. how long has the 155 been setup ?

You can transfer the rock, but I would also use the water and sand"if any" from the old tank. Just move it all over.
