nano427 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Hi, I need to glue the magnet back onto my tunze 9002 skimmer. Would super glue gel be a good choice?
imadams Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 If its a part that in tank, any cyanoacrilate gel based super glue is reef safe
nano427 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Thanks. Yes I know that super glue gel is reef safe, I use it to glue frags. I just wasn't sure if it will bond well to the plastic on the skimmer and hold up under water.
imadams Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Shouldnt be a problem. I know this may sound odd, and I dont know if you would be unwilling to do it. But, I have found that when bonding smoothe plastics, jsut to be safe and not have to glue agian later, I score the plasic a little for a better bond to the newly abrased surface as apposed to a smoothe one.
nano427 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Good idea thanks. I'll scuff it up first.
