eitallent Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 I have scoured the web and this forum to find an ID for this plant. It may be a razor kelp? It is green with 1/8 to 1/4 inch pointed, oval leaves growing only on the cured LR. You can see a leaf towards the lower half of the pic. Help if you can. Thanks Link to comment
scorpkeeper Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Your pic is too fuzzy to make a decent try at ID. If I had to guess at this point, based on the photo, I'd say Sargassum tho. Try backing your camera off some, as nothing in the pic is in focus. Also, be sure you "tell" your camera to focus on the sprout in question. Link to comment

Yes! TY Greg. I looked at some pics on the web and it is Sargassum. It has the same woody stems and a few tiny bladders.I will have to be careful. I read that although it is used in refugiums, spores can spread and grow in the main tank. Sargassum in refugium discussion (off NR site) here Link to comment
