7/27/13 This is my skinny Mandarin named Edgar. I picked him up at a LFS after I watched him eat two large chunks of frozen mysis shrimp. He has been doing really well for the past few days, grazing on the rock and eating my food mix. The shop owner said he needed some TLC and a good home so I thought I would give him a shot. He had been at the store for about 2 weeks prior to my purchase. Wish us luck!

bump....not bad, do you have an update?

Thanks! The post you see is the update. Since its starting I have changed the scape quite drastically as we'll as the livestock. I went from all dry rock with a desk lamp to what you see now. In the past I had a coral banded shrimp, an arrow crab (Lfs said they would be fine together), a couple green chromis, and a blue knuckle hermit. I had a few deaths and traded in the coral banded as I assumed it was the problem. Since that my tank has been going well and none of the livestock is in conflict. Did you want to see some of the older pics?

Custom Clean up Crew from Reefcleaners.org:

 • 10 Dwarf Ceriths
 • 3 Nassarius
 • 4 Florida Ceriths
 • 3 Assorted Hermits
 • 3 Small to Medium Nerites
 • 2 Chitons and 4 Limpets

Added to my list of:

 • assorted hermits (10)
 • fighting konch (1)
 • turbo snails (4)
 • Astrea snails (8)
 • Nissarius snails (5)
 • Blood Shrimp (1)
 • Pom Pom Crab (1)

I wonder how this will work out? Does anyone have any experience with Chitons and Limpets?

For my next live-stock purchases I am thinking of getting a six-line wrasse and a mandarin dragonet... Does anyone know if any of my current or proposed livestock will compete with a mandarin for pods?

Thanks very much!

Updated live stock and coral collection - just found out (thanks to the ID forum) that I struck it good with a Symphillia sp. at the LFS for about half the price it should have been!
