Are all power supplies alike?

As of last night I'm running three Innovative Marine Skyye lights in my tank. That makes six two inch plugs I have to find spots for. The transformers are so big they take up the space of three standard receptacles.

 

Question is can I simply replace the adapters as long as their specs (v, a, w) are the same? I've seen some kits that have Y adapters on them for running multiple LEDs are they ok or should I avoid them?
